Established in 1860 St Leonards Vineyard is the home of the opulent 'Wahgunyah' Shiraz. A hideaway for wine and food lovers, on the bend of the Murray River. Open from Thursday to Monday, the Cellar Door offers a unique range of wines from their own vineyards. Including the exceptional St Leonards 'Wahgunyah' Shiraz and highly rated St Leonards Vineyard Cabernet Franc. Private tastings are also offered, bookings essential. Behind some imposing gates, St Leonards Vineyard is a bit like a museum with its old oak casks and open fermenters, quietly resting out of the mainstream. The place is very much alive, with an atmospheric tasting room and the St Leonards Vineyard Café. Open every Saturday and Sunday for lunch, St Leonards Café serves up dishes designed for outdoor dining. You may find oysters shucked to order, a venison pie, or a spit roast! They take reservations for groups between six and 50 guests. Smaller groups are welcomed on a walk in basis. Children meals are also available.
