Admire the beauty of the Great Barrier reef on this very personal day tour to Green Island.Ocean Free sails to its exclusive Great Barrier Reef mooring just 1 km off Green Island.
Step straight off the boat and see a coral garden teeming with colourful reef-fish and marine life on this highly protected Marine Park zone. Only our guests snorkel this site making it a very personal experience! Turtles and large schools of fish a common site amongst the coral "bommies" (outcrops) that rise form about 10-12M up to just under 1M under the surface making it an ideal area for great snorkelling
Spend the morning snorkelling & / or SCUBA diving (optional extra) over an incredible reef system and view the most unique and colourful marine life under the guidance of our very attentive crew.
Afterwards hop back on board your vessel for a scrumptious large smorgasbord lunch after which you can hop into the tender as the skipper takes you to Green Island beach - your 2nd site to explore!

Guests can visit this island as part of their Ocean Free Green Island & Great Barrier Reef sailing tour with only a maximum of 25 guests

Ocean Free actually moors on an exclusive private reef 1Km off the island where guests can split their time between snorkelling and diving (optional extra) just off the boat and going to the island in the tender to explore or just relax on the tropical beach . Guests have 4 and 1/2 hrs to experience the reef and island . Typically our guests chose to spend 1-2 hrs on the island . On the island guests can enjoy an interpretative walk across the island , relax on the beach and visit Marineland Melanesia (small fee to enter here)

    We did this day trip on Saturday 30th of October for a friends birthday(6 of us in the group). I honestly cant rate this trip highly enough-from start to finish it was amazing! It was a beautiful sail boat with comfortable seating all around it, the staff were AMAZING(so happy,chill and stress free)the trip out there was smooth as hell, the food was perfect and the snorkelling was epic. The staff were quick to point out the marine life(snorkelled with a shark, turtle and lots of other beautiful fish) and stopped on the trip home when we spotted a sea snake! If you do one trip in cairns-make it this one, you couldn’t regret it! Thanks guys-we really enjoyed it and will be back on our next trip! Love The irish

    Fantastic day sailing (sometimes just with the sails) to the surrounding reef off Green Island. The crew were brilliant and gave each guest their full attention to enjoy the day. Guests were a great crowd with an anniversary & 3 birthdays to celebrate. After a glorious day of snorkelling we sailed back to Cairns with birthday cake and bubbles. Special thx to crew "welsh" Liam, Matt & Pascal for such a fab day !

    The sailing boat experience was amazing! The crew were extremely professional but at the same time friendly, and happy to join in with conversations and have a laugh. Skipper Pascal, diving instructor Chris, and snorkeling guide Cassie, worked beautifully as a team and made the entire experience better for everyone on board. The sails going up on the return was unreal! My sister Missy had 2 dives and loved every minute of them, and the rest of us thoroughly enjoyed our snorkel. The water on Green Island was gorgeous to swim in. A trip that we will never forget. Highly recommend you go directly through this company and book in as many adventures as you can!

    Surprised my boyfriend for his birthday with a sail boat ride filled with snorkelling in crystal blue waters, delicious food onboard followed by a little adventure on green island and topped the day off with some cheese and wines as we headed on back to the mainland, boat crew were super friendly- would absolutely recommend, we loved it!

    This was a fantastic way to experience the Great Barrier Reef from Cairns. Sailing on a yacht, not a cat, was a beautifully relaxing option and with small patron numbers there is a greater sense of personalised attention. Snorkelling off Green Island, with well maintained equipment supplied FOC. Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea all provided and dietary requirements catered for as well! And the crew - what a exuberant bunch full of knowledge and smiles. Great experience! Would absolutely pick this tour over another again.

    My partner and I had an amazing time aboard Ocean Free; sailing, snorkelling and first dives! Pascal and Liam made our day extra-special. Their service, conversation and wit were appreciated. The food, which kept coming all day long was great. A quick beverage on the island and walk or swim topped it all off. Sailing back in the afternoon was a perfect end to a perfect day. 100% recommend this experience, whether you want to relax or keep busy their is opportunity for everyone. Thank you Pascal and Liam!

    The whole day was well planned and memorable, it was a fantastic day. The crew were attentive and helpful, food was great and plentiful. This was my first time snorkelling, the staff helped me overcome the nerves staying with me the whole time. The guided reef tour was amazing. There were only 8 passengers so it was a more personise tour. Thanks again for an amazing day.

    What a day!! One the the best experiences to date. Fantastic crew and Skipper along with Noah the work experience lad ( I hope you get the hang of ducking your head when going up those steps!) Everything (except drinks) included with great food and lots of it. Plenty of time for snorkeling before and after lunch and you get to explore the island! Highly recommend!!
